Format JSON, decode JWTs, test regex, generate UUIDs, minify CSS or JS, and convert between CSV, YAML and XML while debugging an API response.

Freelancers and small business

Create invoices, calculate GST, generate UPI or WiFi QR codes, resize product photos, and merge client PDFs before sending a proposal.

Designers and marketers

Free online tools that run entirely in your browser

Wow Shortcuts is a growing collection of more than 110 free online tools that help you finish everyday digital tasks in seconds, without downloading software, creating an account or paying a cent. Whether you need to merge a PDF, compress an image, format JSON or create a QR code, the tool opens instantly and does the job right in the page.

What makes this different from a typical converter site is where the work happens. Most tools here run entirely on your own device. Your file is read into the browser, processed locally, and handed straight back to you as a download. It is never uploaded to a server, which keeps your documents and photos private and makes everything feel immediate. There is no upload bar, no queue, and no waiting for a remote machine to send your file back.

Everything in one place

PDF tools let you combine, split, compress, rotate and convert documents, or add a password to keep them safe. Explore the full set on the PDF tools page. Image tools cover compression, resizing, cropping and format conversion between JPG, PNG and WebP, all under image tools. For coding work, the developer tools include a JSON formatter, Base64 encoder, regex tester, UUID generator and JWT decoder.

On top of that you will find text tools like a word counter and case converter, data converters for JSON, CSV, XML and YAML, and practical business tools such as the invoice generator and GST calculator. You can browse the complete library on the all tools page.

Why browser-based beats installing software

Installing a desktop program for a one-off task is slow and risky: it eats disk space, needs updates, and often asks for more access than the job requires. A browser tool skips all of that. There is nothing to install, nothing to keep up to date, and the same link works on a phone, a tablet or a work laptop where you may not even be allowed to install software.

Because the processing is local, it is also fast and private. You are not waiting on an upload, and your file is not sitting on someone else’s server afterwards. For the occasional task or the daily one, that combination of speed, privacy and zero cost is hard to beat, which is the whole reason Wow Shortcuts exists.

Popular tasks people use Wow Shortcuts for

Some jobs come up again and again. You can merge PDF files and combine several documents into one, split a PDF to pull out specific pages, compress a PDF so it fits an email limit, or convert a PDF to Word for editing. On the developer side you can encode and decode Base64, URL-encode and decode a string, format and validate JSON, or decode a JWT.

For images, people compress photos to a target size, resize an image for a form, or convert between JPG, PNG and WebP. And for everyday admin you can generate a QR code or create a free invoice in a couple of minutes, every one of them free, private and running right in your browser.

Privacy, speed and zero lock-in

Online converters that insist on uploading every file create two problems: they are slow, and they put your documents on someone else’s disk. Wow Shortcuts takes the opposite approach for most tools. The file is read with the browser File API, transformed in memory, and offered back as a download. That means sensitive contracts, ID photos and API payloads never need to leave your laptop or phone.

There is also no account wall. You do not create a profile, you do not hit a daily quota, and you do not get a watermark stamped on the result. If a tool needs a live network lookup (for example an IP check), it is labelled clearly and only sends the minimum query required. Everything else is designed to feel like a local utility that happens to live at a URL.

Frequently asked questions

Are the tools on WowShortcuts really free?

Yes. Every tool on WowShortcuts is completely free to use, with no hidden charges, no trial that expires, and no premium tier locked behind a paywall. You do not need to create an account or hand over a credit card to merge a PDF, compress an image or format JSON. There are no daily limits on how many files you can process, and we never add a watermark to your output. The site is supported by light, non-intrusive advertising, which is what keeps the tools free for everyone.

Do I need to install anything or sign up?

No installation and no sign-up are required. WowShortcuts runs in any modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or Brave) on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. You simply open a tool and start using it within seconds. Because there is nothing to download, there is no software to update, no extension to grant permissions to, and nothing taking up space on your device. The same tool works identically on a phone, a tablet and a desktop.

Are my files and data kept private?

For the large majority of our tools, your files never leave your device. Operations like merging PDFs, compressing images, converting file formats, generating QR codes and formatting code all run locally in your browser using JavaScript, so the file is processed on your own computer and is never uploaded to a server. That means your documents, photos and data stay private by design. A small number of tools that genuinely need an external lookup (for example checking a domain or your IP address) clearly send only the minimum query required, and we never store the results.

How can a browser merge PDFs or compress images without a server?

Modern browsers are far more capable than most people realise. They ship with powerful built-in technologies: the Canvas API for images, the File and Blob APIs for reading and writing files, WebAssembly for heavy processing, and the Web Crypto API for secure random values. WowShortcuts uses these directly, so a tool can read your file into memory, transform it and hand back a finished download entirely on your machine. This is why the tools feel instant: there is no upload step and no waiting in a server queue.

What kinds of tools does WowShortcuts offer?

WowShortcuts covers eight broad categories. PDF tools let you merge, split, compress, convert, protect and edit documents. Image tools handle compression, resizing, cropping, format conversion and background removal. Developer tools include a JSON formatter, Base64 encoder, regex tester, UUID generator, JWT decoder and hash generator. Text tools cover word counting, case conversion and text comparison. There are also data and spreadsheet converters, business tools such as the invoice generator and GST calculator, and handy utilities like the QR code generator and password generator.

Do the tools work on mobile phones?

Yes. Every page is fully responsive and built mobile-first, so the tools are comfortable to use on a phone or tablet, not just a desktop. You can compress a photo, generate a QR code, count words or create an invoice directly from your phone, and the output downloads straight to your device. Because processing happens on the device itself, performance depends on your phone rather than your internet connection, so even large files are handled quickly once they are loaded.

Is there a limit on file size or how many files I can process?

There is no artificial cap that we impose. Since the work happens in your browser, the practical limit is your device’s available memory rather than a server quota. On a typical laptop or modern phone you can comfortably merge large PDFs and compress high-resolution images. Very large files (hundreds of megabytes) may run slower on older or low-memory devices simply because everything is held in memory while it is processed, but you can run as many separate operations as you like, one after another, with no counter ticking down.

Do I keep the rights to the files I create?

Absolutely. Anything you produce with WowShortcuts (a merged PDF, a compressed image, a generated invoice or QR code) belongs entirely to you. We do not claim any ownership over your content, we do not store it, and because most processing never reaches our servers, we never even see it. You are free to use the results for personal, educational or commercial purposes without attribution.

Will WowShortcuts work if my internet drops?

For client-side tools, once the page has finished loading you can often continue working even if your connection becomes unstable, because the actual processing does not need the network. The initial visit does require internet to load the page, but the file conversion or generation step itself runs locally. Tools that perform an online lookup are the exception and do need a live connection to return a result.

How often are new tools added?

We add new tools regularly based on what people are searching for and asking about. The collection already spans more than a hundred utilities across PDF, image, developer, text, data, spreadsheet and business categories, and it keeps growing. If there is a tool you wish existed, it is worth checking back. Many of the most-used tools on the site started as a single user request.
