Troubleshooting

The QR doesn’t generate.

Check the UPI ID is in the form name@bank (for example 98765xxxxx@ybl). Spaces or a missing @ will stop it from generating.

My app shows a different name when scanning.

The payer’s app shows the name registered with your UPI ID at the bank, not the name typed here. Confirm it matches you before sharing the QR.

Does this UPI QR work with Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm?

Yes. It creates a standard UPI QR, so any UPI app — Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, CRED and others — can scan and pay it.

Is a UPI QR code safe? Can someone misuse it?

A UPI QR can only send money TO your UPI ID — it can never pull money from the person scanning it. Tell customers to confirm your name appears in their app before paying, which also helps detect any QR someone tries to swap or paste over yours.

Can I print it for my shop counter?

Yes — download the “Scan & Pay” standee, print it, and slip it into a plastic stand on your counter. It shows your name, the QR, and the supported apps.

Should I set an amount?

Leave the amount blank so customers can enter any amount, or set a fixed amount for a specific payment.

Do I need a merchant or business account?

No. Any personal or business UPI ID (like name@okhdfcbank) works — there is no signup and no fee.

Is my UPI ID uploaded anywhere?
